Bedford International Athletic Stadium has acquired a reputation as one of the finest facilities of its kind in the south and indeed the UK- it enjoys a central location in the heart of Bedford, and yet is only 10 minutes from the M1 and A1 road links, making it accessible to all areas.

Our key priority is to maintain and improve the quality of service we provide and as a result we are committed to ‘Quest’ (UK quality scheme for sport and leisure) having achieved the initial accreditation in 2001. In 2007 we achieved a Quest score of 79% which places us in the ‘highly commended’ category. We are now in the top 5% of leisure facilities in the country and are the highest scoring leisure facility in Bedford.

Over the past few years the Stadium has been transformed- refurbishments of the reception, bar/lounge and fitness suite areas, purchase of additional equipment to enhance the services offered to our customers.

Bedford Borough Council has developed both indoor and outdoor athletic sporting opportunities.

The outdoor facilities comprise an International standard eight lane floodlit synthetic track, athletics field events area, an American football pitch and two rugby pitches, one of which is floodlit.

The sports hall comprises eight badminton courts with one court for team sports such as football and a 60 metre sprint track. Activities offered range from Athletics, Football, Badminton, Short Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Volleyball and a variety of general fitness sessions.
